Striking sculptural headboard of cast brass on a gold-colored frame, designed by Luciano Frigerio, Italy, around 1965.
This is a stylish, and heavy piece, in good original condition. The decorative section comprises panels and linking scrolls of different textures, giving a subtle variation in sheen. We have not polished the brass and it shows a nice aged patina. There is some tarnishing - typically on the upper edge, and at the corners - some spots of oxidation on the brass, and losses to the paint of the lower part of the frame.
