A monumental ceramic totem floor lamp by Bernard Rooke, England. Unwired.
A beautiful sculptural piece, made up of ceramic elements in natural tones of terracotta and stone, with lots of texture, built over a metal tube. The two round elements are decorated on one side with blue/green glass, and a wheel or seed pod motif on the other.
The piece is in good original condition, with occasional minor flaws in line with the making and firing process, and some general wear to the ceramic as one would expect from age and use. This an early model, with heavy hand-formed elements; later pieces being mould-formed.
