A large mid-century ceramic plate or wall-hanging by Oswald Tieberghien of Eeklo, Belgium.
The piece has a deep orange-red background with central abstract design in subtle tones of beige, brown, grey and blue. The decoration is worked in hand-painted, layered glaze of different textures; likely to be a unique piece.
The plate is a good size, with small feet that give it lightness, whether sitting flat or wall-mounted. The underside is fitted with wire for wall-hanging, if required, and it is stamped by the maker.
Good original condition with minor signs of wear as one might expect from a piece of its age.
