Simple elegant side table with a black metal frame and top of studio ceramic work. European, probably Belgian or French, 1950s. Unsigned.
The black metal structure is a neat design with the legs and top frame being a single piece. The top is made up of 18 hand-made tiles with glazes of varying textures forming an abstract pattern in tones of grey, brown, pale green and deep orange-red.
The table is in very nice vintage condition, with a few minor signs of wear as might be expected from age and use, including a few losses to the grout around the edges; all four concealed rubber feet are in place.
