** The piece shown here is now sold. We have another from the same home available - the same original cognac leather but with more wear evident - please just drop us a note if you would like details.**
An early example of Poul Kjærholm's 1956 design, model PK22. This piece - manufactured by E Kold Christensen - has the original nickel-plated steel frame and cognac leather.
The chair shows a highly developed patina to both the leather and the frame, with plenty of age-related wear including minor losses to the nickel-plating and surface rust to the frame, and some breaks to the leather and losses to the stitching. We understand a former owner has taken the step of reinforcing the leather with a linen backing. The original three fasteners are in place on the under side of the cover. The frame appears solid with all screws in place and the Kold Christensen stamp visible on the cross-bar.
It is possible to source new leather covers for these chairs if required.
