The sculptural design of this piece is composed of a thick glass top held by four heavy supports of solid sand-cast brass. The T14 design has a smooth outline and fluted panels with textured finish.
Overall this piece is in very nice condition. As is typical for the sand-casting process, small irregularities may exist, even in the polished surface, so each brass component has its own unique handcrafted character. Over time these pieces have acquired signs of use, as one might expect, and patina which has deepened with age. This is an early production set of supports that pre-dates the use of the maker's mark, and is from the 1970s.
Glass: in these images, the brass supports are shown with an original square glass top of 700mm x 700mm x 15mm. This glass has lots of wear, and replacement is advised. If you would like to source your own glass locally (recommended if shipping long distance) or discuss a top of a different size or shape, please just let us know. The small screws which hold the glass in place are supplied.
