An early model of Bertoia's iconic wide diamond chair, designed in 1952 for Knoll.
This piece has been in the same home since acquisition in London in the 1950s and has seen only occasional use. Made of fine bent and welded steel wire, finished in black paint (not Rilsan coating), the chair is all original, including shock-mounts, and remains in good overall condition with a little surface rust in places and just a couple of loose wires. A very nice example of this sculptural design.
Dimensions: H: 73cm x W: 100cm x D: 73cm
In a separate listing we are featuring an early example of Bertoia's Bird chair from the same London home (see final image). This piece is now sold.
