Brass table lamp, with black shade and base, attributed to Giuseppe Ostuni for O-Luce of Italy, 1950s.
A beautiful design, very nicely made, which allows the circular shade to be tilted through a joint at the neck. There are light age-related signs of wear as one might expect, including minor paint loss or discoloration, slight compression to the upper loop of the frame, and patina to the brass from age and cleaning. Importantly, the shade has retained good shape, and the adjusting joint works nicely. We like this light very much as it is, and we would not recommend restoration. That said, please note the wiring is original and must be replaced for use - we advise this is done locally to your project to ensure it meets your needs and regulations.
H 37 cm x W 32 cm x D 28 cm
The height and width dimensions are approximate as the lampshade is adjustable; the depth shown is the diameter of the shade.
Founded in 1945 by Giuseppe Ostuni, O-Luce is the oldest Italian design company still operating in the lighting world.
