Large chandelier of brass with painted details. Italian mid-20th century, probably early 1950s.
The chandelier comprises six sections, each with three curved and looped arms ending in crown-shaped cones, painted in off-white, giving 18 lights in total at two levels. The central stem is decorated with shaped sections of brass and aluminium. Overall a dramatic centrepiece, very much in the style of Stilnovo or Lumi.
The fixture has been newly rewired, with each of the 18 cones taking a large screw-fitting light bulb. The cones and stem sections have been lightly re-stored, the brass has been left unpolished; some signs of wear, including a small crease to the top crown, in line with age and use.
