Set of six Italian dining chairs with carved legs, 1950s.
Interesting pieces combining elements of architectural or Industrial Design with warm handcrafted wood. The chairs have floating backs of teak-faced ply, with metal spacers, and carved front legs. Designer unknown, however these chairs are nicely made; redolent of Osvaldo Borsani or Fratelli Proserpio.
The frames of these chairs have been lightly polished, and are in nice condition, retaining a lovely warm patina to the wood, with changes in tone being integral to the grain. The seats have been left with their original black vinyl covering - which retains nice character but shows lots of signs of wear - and re-upholstery to suit your space is recommended.
