Italian glass pendant light with decorative brass frame, mid-20th century.
A delicate fixture made up of two dishes of opaque glass held by a decorative brass frame. The slim flying saucer shape is very much in the style of Pietro Chiesa for Fontana Arte. The glass is smooth to the outside and frosted within; there are nice details to the frame, and the original stem and scalloped canopy are in place.
The light is in good vintage condition overall, with a nice aged feel. It has some age-appropriate wear including light marks to the glass shades and tarnishing to the external brass. New wiring will be required and we advise this work is done in the country of install to ensure it meets your local needs and regulations (UK clients please contact us if you require assistance with this step); the current configuration takes three small screw-fitting bulbs (E14).
Approximate dimensions:
Overall diameter including brass: 60cm
Overall height*, including stem: 66cm
Diameter of glass only: 45cm
Size of canopy only: H 10cm including collar x Dia 7.5cm
* Please note the overall height has been measured from the top of the stem to the bottom of the fixture; the overall drop of this light will depend on the size/design of the fixing in your ceiling. In the main image the drop is approximately 72cm as the canopy is pushed up, over a large ceiling hook. If you require a stem of a different length, your electrician should be able to assist. The light will be dismantled for shipping.
