A set of two large and unusual decorative pendant lights of brass and acrylic, mid-20th century, probably 1960s, Italy.
The striking designs comprise a flat plate housing brass fins and an off-white moulded acrylic shade, held in place by a brass surround. The decorative hanging stems are finished in brass.
The lights were formerly lit by fluorescent tubes, but have now been updated to take LED T8 tubes of the same length, which can be dimmed using compatible dimmers. The lights are designed to be used above eye level and the LED drivers are positioned on the upper plate, concealed from view by the brass fins.
The pieces are in very good original condition with some signs of wear to both the acrylic and the brass finish including light scratches and losses to the finish; there are also some old paint spots to the upper side of the plate, which are not visible when the fixtures are installed. PAT tested in line with UK standards.
Dimensions:
Large: L 140cm x D 22cm x H 90cm to top of ceiling mounting
Small: L 75cm x D 19cm x H 105cm
The height of the acrylic shade only is approximately 8cm, or 16cm to include the decorative brass section above.
