Pair of large Art Deco door handles in the shape of seahorses. These pieces are European, probably Austrian or German, early to mid-20th century, unsigned.
Unusual and heavy pieces with lots of age-related patina to the brass or bronze. We have left these pieces as found, in authentic aged condition. There are lots of signs of wear as one might expect from age and use, including old scratches and pitting, and some traces of old paint - please zoom in for details. Small deposits inside one piece (right handle, main image) which is only apparent if shaken. The handles fit through two holes on the reverse. One piece is fitted with threaded rods, which we have not attempted to remove; these could be extended by your fitter, if required, to suit your project.
