A large cabinet by Willy Van Der Meeren for Tubax, Belgium, 1950s.
The cabinet has a black metal frame and back, with blue and grey metal sliding doors with long, elegant fin-shaped wooden handles; the sides of the cabinet are plywood. The interior of the cabinet provides practical and useful storage: three shelves - of which two are adjustable - span the full width of the cabinet, with no central partition, and there are two sets of three drawers below. The colours of the doors have a slight warm undertone. A striking storage option for your office, studio or living space.
We have not undertaken any restoration on this piece, and as one might expect from age and use, there are old signs of wear to both the wood and the metal. If you would like more details of condition or other aspects, or further images, please don't hesitate to ask. For us this piece remains in very nice vintage condition with beautiful color combination and real character. The original lock is in place at the top of the doors (no key); the structure is good and the doors run very well.
Approximate dimensions:
H 200 cm x W 120 cm x D 61 cm | 65 cm to the widest part of the door handles.
