Large "Cubic" chandelier by Gaetano Sciolari, Italy, mid-20th century.
Chrome-plated frame of four arms with seventeen lights. The lamp-holders sit in square-section polished chrome tubes joined by brushed chrome connectors, and covered by original lucite shades. The stem and canopy are original, and the proportions create a strong silhouette.
Overall the piece is in very nice vintage condition, and the metal is bright. Both frame and shades show signs of wear in line with age and use, including some flaking to the chrome and minor fading or colouring of the shades. The wiring is original with small bayonet-fitting lamp holders, and we advise this is tested and re-wired as necessary to meet your local needs and regulations. Low heat bulbs are recommended to protect this piece for the future. Original stem and square canopy with paper "Sciolari" label.
Approximate dimensions:
Diameter: 70cm taken at the widest point
