Simple but striking table/desk lamp with large saucer-shaped shade, manufactured by LBL, former DDR. The shade is French grey (green-grey) on the outside, and white inside, held in place by a brass disc. Unusual to see a lamp of this style in such a large size.
Good overall condition, giving good task lighting for your desk, studio or living space. Minor signs of age-related wear and the brass parts have a nice patina. The lamp are labelled and dated. New wiring will be required to meet your local needs and regs.
Approximate dimensions:
Height 41cm x width 45cm (when shade is horizontal as in the main picture)
Depth 43cm (equivalent to the diameter of the shade).
LBL (VEB Leuchtenbau Leipzig) was founded in 1889. Designers who worked for the company included Marianne Brandt, who was head of the Bauhaus metal workshop in 1928.
