Very large and striking saucer-shaped chandelier. Probably 1950s or 1960s. Unlabelled but very much in the style of Arredoluce, Italy.
Dimensions (approx): H 1m x Dia 95cm
The structure is made of three stems of brass, with a large spun aluminium dish - lacquered black and off-white (inside) - with twelve discs of frosted plexiglass each framed in brass. The illumination comes from three standard bulbs - one on each of the stems - lighting the ceiling and giving a diffuse down-light through the discs.
The chandelier is in good vintage condition, and for us it presents very well. There is some wear as one might expect from age and use, including minor dents and marks to both the paint and the plexiglass. We have left the brass unpolished and it has an aged mellow tone.
This fixture has been constructed to work at its current height without adjustment - very much as if a bespoke piece - however if you require a longer drop, the light can be hung on a chain above the canopy (just seen in image 1). Wiring is original and we advice it is replaced locally to installation to ensure compliance with your regulations and design needs; UK clients please contact us if you require assistance with this step.
