Steel and brass chandelier with minimal architectural lines. Mid-20th century, Netherlands. A simple piece of modern design, nicely made, consisting of six lamp-holders in a grey steel frame with brass cross-bars; the style and overall silhouette can be directed through your choice of bulb, and we have shown a few examples here.
The light hangs on two brass stems; the rectangular ceiling canopy is also of grey painted steel, with a brass finial. The finial can be removed to give access to the single hanging point, then re-instated to hold the canopy in place.
Overall the piece is in good original condition, with wear in line with age and use. The brass cross bars and screws have a lovely rich tone and look to be gold-plated; there are minor losses and rust spots to the grey painted finish. The fixture has been rewired to UK standards in the past, and we advise this is tested/replaced in the country of install prior to use. The fixture takes six large screw-fitting bulbs (size E27), not supplied.
Approximate dimensions excluding bulbs: H* 89 cm x 75 cm x 34 cm.
*It could be possible to extend the overall drop by replacing the brass stems to suit your project; your electrician will be able to advise.
The piece will be dismantled for shipping; bulbs not included.
