A mosaic coffee table with black steel frame. Mid-20th Century, found in Europe. Unsigned. Style of Mado Jolain, France (1921 - 2019).
The narrow understated design features a table top covered in small black tiles, interspersed with white, which appears to float above the lower frame. The mosaic looks to be quartz, with each tile having its own cut and positioning, giving an irregular handcrafted finish.
The piece is in fair vintage condition with a nice aged character which we have left as found. There are age-appropriate signs of wear throughout, including occasional nicks to the tiles and losses to the grout; rust and paint losses to the frame, which could be refinished or used as it is.
