A pair of heavy bronze or brass door handles in the form of a woman's face with long braided hair. 20th century, found in Germany.
Beautifully made pieces, each of the same design. The shape is slightly curved - as seen in profile - and the arrangement of fixings suggests they were originally designed to be used back-to-back, perhaps on a glass door. You could consult with your fitter to install on thicker doors or side by side on double doors as required.
Both pieces are in vintage condition with signs of wear in line with age and use, including minor marks and signs of cleaning. Each piece has its own aged patina from handling and weathering, with occasional traces of an old golden finish - all left as found. One braid is darker than the other.
Installation:
The handles are heavy (around 2.9kg per piece) and will require careful installation to suit the weight of the metal and the thickness of your door. The two threaded bolts have been replaced with similar new items (M8 thread); you may need to cut or replace as suits your project. Originally designed to be used back-to-back; you could consult with your fitter to install on thicker doors or side by side on double doors as required. The lower bolt passes through the hole in the inner handle (left in main image) to connect with the threaded hole in the outer handle, which is not seen from the front.
Approximate dimensions:

W: 9.5cm
D: 6.5cm *
* Depth is taken from the end of the spacer (face of door) to the raised front, at the upper part of the inside handle.
