Pair of very large Art Deco candle holders with square milled brass details on the stem. Early to mid-20th century, European.
The main body of each piece is made of hammered brass - or possibly gilt bronze - giving a mellow tone to the finish, which appears more golden in direct light; see images for impression of range. Good vintage condition with an interesting patina. There are some signs of age-appropriate wear, including light scratches, wear to the finish and a little rust from the metal bolt on the underside; minor variations and asymmetry from the hand-making process, including a small hole in one spike.
