Pair of "Siesta" Sconces by Maija Liisa Komulainen for Raak, Netherlands 1970s.
The sconces are made of sheet metal cut and bent to form eyelids or shades, creating a twinkling light. The metal has its original off-white paintwork, and has a very mellow finish.
The fixtures are in good vintage condition, with some cracking to the paint on one side of one light (see images). Each piece is labelled with the Raak badge. The wiring has been renewed and each piece takes two bulbs of large screw fitting; the wiring can be connected directly to the wiring in your space, or a lead can be fed through a hole at the bottom of each frame so the flex can be connected with a plug if required.
