Postmodern ceramic coffee table with blue-turquoise satin glaze. Italy 1970s
Striking sculptural base, in heavy ceramic, with simple glass top. The glaze is a single colour, with some areas showing slightly thicker or thinner application giving the whole piece a handmade feel. The beautiful colour is difficult to capture (see image 2). Probably late midcentury but with post-modern characteristics - the simple bold outline brings to mind the work of Ettore Sottsass, however there is no maker's mark.
Good vintage condition with with minor wear in line with age and use. Wear includes some small areas where the glaze has flaked off, showing the white clay beneath; minor scratches and very small chips to the glass top.

The glass simply rests on the top and will be packed separately for transit.
